V8 Ford Focus!

rs8-2To those interested in Ford, and those who like doing there own mods you have to check this out. Ive seen this about 3 years ago and thought that it would be really neat. The idea of having a 320hp rear wheel drive ford focus. The weight to hp ratio is huge. There wouldn’t be much on the road that would compete in that class.

Ive talked to some owners that have did just that, transform there cars from stock to full blown crazyness!
Here is what they have to say….

“It takes a lot of time, energy and money, but if your willing to put in the time and effort its really fun.”       Frank, Sacramento

“My son and i have done three focuses now,  each beaten then the one before.  Now we own 2 V8 focuses.”   Ken, Miami

“I’m still working on mine, but I’m having fun, and getting a lot done.  It should be done by mid July.”     Brian, Pittsburgh

You can see that there are lots of people looking for something different. Well this is it. There are many diffrent ways to do this. You can put almost any Ford V8 engine in them, most transmissinos wiill fit. The bigger you go the more you have to alter for it to wotk.

Most people have used a ford 302 witch is a 5.0 liter, with a T5 transmission. There are severl diffrent sites you can go to in order to make it a little easier. At these sites you can order the brackets to make it more of a bolt in prosses rather then fabing them on your own, However there is till fabracation to be done.

It takes most people who have done this about 5 months, working mostly after work, to do this kind of project.  “To make it easier, find a doner “Fox ” body mustang.”  A Mustang from 87-93.   Brian from Pittsburgh said.

You can use the engine, tranny, wiring harness, and rear end.  So this way you have all the primary parts that cost the most to buy.  You can find a Fox Mustang anywhere from $500 and up, depending on what you want.

Developed by
Ford Racing Performance Parts (FRPP) in 2003, the RS8 was a real show stopper at
the 2003 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA). FRPP transplanted
their new, aluminum-alloy, 420 HP, 5.0-liter 4-valve “Cammer” crate engine
into a Focus RS. However, in order to adopt this new power plant,
the focus had to be converted to a rear-wheel drive platform.

They’re Gone Now.

Well my sister in law and her husband went back to North Dakota. We miss them already. My son misses them the most, then my mother in law. We had a great weekend with them before they had to go back.

When I got out of work Saturday, My wife called me and asked me if i wanted to go out to eat in titusville with everybody. So i went from Grove City to titusville via I 80. We went to a little bar that was near by. The food was OK. After dinner my wife, son, and I went home to get ready to go Sunday.

Sunday we got up and went to the Cleveland Zoo. All of us, our van was full with people coolers and luggage. It was a very nice day. We got there and the sun was just coming out. So the weather was really nice. Being mothers day all mothers got in for free, Witch was a nice surprise for everyone, my wife and i have a family pass, but the offer was nice none the less. Nine of us got it for a total of $30. What a great zoo. Nice and spread out, and lots to see. There was a few things that was disappointing. The elephants are gone till 2011. They are redoing the building, and the dinosaures exhibit is closed until may 25. So my mother in law wants to go back late June or early July.

After the zoo we drove 10 min to the Cleveland airport to drop of Aunt K and her husband. We said our good byes and watched them walk to there gate. Back to Minot ND, to the air force base.

We wish you the best and cant wait to see you in October.

This is awsome. FORD SURPASSES HONDA IN INITIAL QUALITY

Ford surpasses Honda in initial quality and remains in a statistical tie at the top with Toyota.
Ford’s initial vehicle quality improved 5 percent over last year.
Ford customer satisfaction continues to improve and is equal to Toyota and Honda.
Ford has five segment leaders: Ford Mustang, Taurus, Taurus X and Ranger, and Mercury Milan.
DEARBORN, April 17, 2009 – Ford Motor Company, continuing its rapid quality improvement, surpassed Honda in initial vehicle quality for the first time and reached new levels of customer satisfaction with vehicle quality, a new survey shows.

Ford is also statistically tied with Toyota at the top of the industry when it comes to initial vehicle quality, according to the 2009 U.S. Global Quality Research System (GQRS) survey conducted quarterly for Ford by RDA Group of Bloomfield Hills, Mich.

“This is truly a significant accomplishment for us,” said Bennie Fowler, Ford group vice president, Global Quality. “Honda and Toyota have claimed bragging rights for years, but now we are seeing our hard work pay off. It’s evident in study after study.”

The latest GQRS survey measured 2009 model year vehicle initial quality in two categories: the number of “things gone wrong,” and customer satisfaction with vehicle quality in the first three months of ownership.

In the first quarter of 2009, Ford, Lincoln and Mercury vehicles saw things gone wrong fall by 5 percent to 1,228 per 1,000 vehicles, significantly better than Honda’s 1,422 things gone wrong per 1,000 vehicles and statistically equal to Toyota’s 1,150.

In addition, the survey shows that Ford Lincoln Mercury improved two percentage points to 79 percent in customer satisfaction with vehicle quality, which puts Ford’s domestic brands in a tie with Toyota and Honda for industry leadership.

“Ford’s commitment to quality is really paying off as they continue to rival Honda and Toyota on both initial quality and customer satisfaction with the quality,” said Donald Pietrowski, president, RDA Group.

The following models led their respective segments in the survey:

Ford Mustang – initial quality and customer satisfaction for sports cars
Ford Taurus – initial quality for large cars
Ford Taurus X – initial quality for crossover utilities
Mercury Milan – initial quality for midsize cars
Ford Ranger – initial quality for compact pickups
The new 2009 Ford F-150 recorded quality levels that equate to less than one problem per vehicle, as did the Taurus, Taurus X, Fusion, Milan, and Edge.

Ok Day.

Today was kind of a long day. Got up and went to work, Traffic was terrible.   There was a turned van in the median.  It had a baby on board sticker in the window I hope that everyone was OK.  There was police and ambulance already there.

When I got to work,  I grabbed my harness and box and went to the man lift and took it up to the fourth floor where “O” and I have been working.  We are between columns 6 and 7 and the brick is off 1 1/2″ in 4′, and the stud work is off by at least 1/2″.  To do my layout is about impossible.  So after about an hour and a half i got it as it is going to get. work

So “O” and I started putting up our panels.  Once we got the left bay done the second bay went really well.  Trying to find our flashing was kind of a pain.  All the flashing was gone from the second floor and third floor so I had to go back down to the ground and opened a few crates and had to dig out some more.  The problem is that i got into the crate for the third building.  My foremen cant find the extra flashing for the building I’m in right now so he will have to order more so we don’t run short in the third building.

Found out today that in about a month that we are going to from 6/10’s to 4/10’s and some of us are going down to the new area for the pitts pens.  Weneed to do a prelayout for when we get there in late summer early fall.  That there is about a years worth of work, at least.

harleyAfter work today, “O” was going to pick up his new bike. He got a Harley.  He was like a kid in a candy store.  He was trying to decided what helmet would match his bike the best.  It was so funny.  Between doing layout on our panels and him thinking about his bike all day,  it was just funny day.

Speaking of “O” He just texted me and he made it home safe and sound and says that he loves his bike.  Congrats to you and I hope you enjoy!  Cant wait to see it tomorrow at work.  If its not raining. <LOL>

Well I talk to my wife a little bit today.  She had so much to say today.  We got mail at the house today that we have been waiting for three weeks.  So we have to do that and get it sent back in.  She had several conversations today from other friends that we haven’t heard from lately.  And then when I was getting dinner tonight she called me and said that the front window in the front door was broke.  My father in law was going to go over and take a look at it for me so they would be safe until I got home.

I’m not going to be able to get home tomorrow. I have to work late, So im going to go home Thursday night. Cant wait to get home and see my little man, and my wife. She has been waiting to make me a new dish, eggplant parmesan.   Ive never heard of the dish but ill try anything.

My wife is calling, so ill post more later.

I was asked to day to do a post about the Ford Focus RS8, So check back soon.
