This is awsome. FORD SURPASSES HONDA IN INITIAL QUALITY
Ford surpasses Honda in initial quality and remains in a statistical tie at the top with Toyota.
Ford’s initial vehicle quality improved 5 percent over last year.
Ford customer satisfaction continues to improve and is equal to Toyota and Honda.
Ford has five segment leaders: Ford Mustang, Taurus, Taurus X and Ranger, and Mercury Milan.
DEARBORN, April 17, 2009 – Ford Motor Company, continuing its rapid quality improvement, surpassed Honda in initial vehicle quality for the first time and reached new levels of customer satisfaction with vehicle quality, a new survey shows.
Ford is also statistically tied with Toyota at the top of the industry when it comes to initial vehicle quality, according to the 2009 U.S. Global Quality Research System (GQRS) survey conducted quarterly for Ford by RDA Group of Bloomfield Hills, Mich.

“This is truly a significant accomplishment for us,” said Bennie Fowler, Ford group vice president, Global Quality. “Honda and Toyota have claimed bragging rights for years, but now we are seeing our hard work pay off. It’s evident in study after study.”
The latest GQRS survey measured 2009 model year vehicle initial quality in two categories: the number of “things gone wrong,” and customer satisfaction with vehicle quality in the first three months of ownership.
In the first quarter of 2009, Ford, Lincoln and Mercury vehicles saw things gone wrong fall by 5 percent to 1,228 per 1,000 vehicles, significantly better than Honda’s 1,422 things gone wrong per 1,000 vehicles and statistically equal to Toyota’s 1,150.
In addition, the survey shows that Ford Lincoln Mercury improved two percentage points to 79 percent in customer satisfaction with vehicle quality, which puts Ford’s domestic brands in a tie with Toyota and Honda for industry leadership.
“Ford’s commitment to quality is really paying off as they continue to rival Honda and Toyota on both initial quality and customer satisfaction with the quality,” said Donald Pietrowski, president, RDA Group.
The following models led their respective segments in the survey:
Ford Mustang – initial quality and customer satisfaction for sports cars
Ford Taurus – initial quality for large cars
Ford Taurus X – initial quality for crossover utilities
Mercury Milan – initial quality for midsize cars
Ford Ranger – initial quality for compact pickups
The new 2009 Ford F-150 recorded quality levels that equate to less than one problem per vehicle, as did the Taurus, Taurus X, Fusion, Milan, and Edge.
What a weekend!

Well I had a long weekend but it felt like a short one. I came home at 11am because i got rained out at work. So I surprised my wife by just showing up. She was so excited as well as my son, JJ. JJ came running down the steps and gave me a huge hug. What a great welcome home.
So the rest of the day Friday I spent doing some running for my wife and doing some of my own running. We had to get everything ready for the party. When I got back from my running around, JJ and I went out and mowed some of the lawn before it started raining. He loves ridding the lawn mower. So then it started raining and we then went into the house. We went in and realized that it was after 5, so JJ and I made some dinner. My wife was out shopping with my mother in law.
After dinner JJ and I decided to watch a movie, He loves Elmo so he went over and picked up a Elmo movie so that is what we watched. While watching the movie my wife came home, she had chicken for dinner, so I had to eat again. It was OK, she makes better chicken then KFC.
Well Saturday morning, we got up and eat breakfast. Then we JJ and I got dressed and headed outside to do some more things to get ready for the party. We first got the lawn mower out and we only got two passes mowed before we had someone pulling in the driveway. (I knew who it was, it was a surprise for jj and my wife.) My sister-in-law and her husband pulled in. JJ just started waiving. We pulled over and shut the mower off and JJ was not happy that we shut off the mower. He wasn’t sure what to do, his aunt came over and picked him right up. He just kinda look at her. It was kinda funny. Then his uncle said hi and started talking to him. Then he started warming up.
Once JJ was ok with them we jumped in the Ford Windstar and headed to Wegmans to see JJ’s grandma. She was so excited to see JJ, her daughter, and son-in-law. Grandma didn’t know we were all coming to surprise her. When we got there we ended up having more of a brunch with her. I was fun having everyone together again.
So needless to say, when we got home JJ needed to take a nap. So my wife went and laid him down and I went back outside to finish law work. I also had to finish everything else, set up tent, tables, chairs, get drinks put in the fridge, and help my wife finish everything else, inside my wife. She had most of it done already.
Then the day of the party!! Everyone was there from aunts, uncles, great aunts, and great uncles, to grandmas and great grandma’s. Everyone had so much fun, there was kids running everywhere, all of them boys but two girls. They sat quitely and played by themselves. The boys, however did not play so quitley. They were loud and running everywhere and getting into everything. But what can you say boys will be boys. JJ was in the mix at some points being the ring leader. It was so funny.
The party was great, and everyone had a good time. The weather was great and you really couldn’t ask for a better day overall. Most of all the food was gone and all the pop and beer was just about gone as well. So needless to say clean up was kinda easy. Nothing need packed away or stored anywhere. After everyone left we went over to my in-laws house and watched twlight for the tenth time. But its a good movie so it was ok.
When the movie was over we said our goodbyes and went home, put JJ to bed and then I had to pack for the week, because it was back to work on monday morning.

Another good day. I had a great day at work and tonight has been very good also. Got home and had a great dinner and just relaxed. I was looking at #Ford’s web site and found out that they were giving away 100 new #Ford Fiesta to people just to drive and talk about. I would so like that job from #Ford. I cant afford to buy new cars, so “Test driving” them would be the closest to having a new one.
I someone asking me if i would own a chevy. I replyed to him, “If given to me then yes, however I would sell it and put the money towards a new #Ford.” I Love #Fordbut im not stupid enough to pass up something free!!! LOL
I talked to my wifea little bit ago. She said that my son had figured out that he has knees!! Now he can really run. My wife is having a hard time keeping up with him now. LOL Man the things you miss when your out of town. I wish there was work in Erie. Untill then Ill drive back and forth to pitts.
Going to play Wii with Uncle M. Then off to bed. Have to get up at 5am for another 10 hr day.

What a day.! My #Ford for the first time let me down. Long story short, because I have to go to bed, Got up at 4am this morning and headed to Pitt. for work. I made it as far as Meadville, and then my alternator went on my truck. I decided to go as far as I could on just the battery.
I made it 2 miles south of the Grove City exit. I got lucky. There was a rest stop there. I just made it when the truck shut down. So I called my loving wife, at 5am, and asked her to go to the parts store and get a new on for me, and then drive a little over an hour to bring it to me.
Being a loving caring wife she is, she came down when she got the part. It only took me 13 min to take out the old one and put in the new one. The Ford was ready to go once againe. Hey with 274k things will happen. I still Love #Ford. I might however keep my eye open for a parts truck for it. I cant afford a truck payment, so thats the next best thing.
Got to work about 10:30am. Worked till 5pm. Then back to Erie with my wifes new fridge. Got home, took out the old one and put in the new one and It works great.
What a day. LONG LONG LONG. Now I have to get back up agine at 4am and go back down to Pitt. I just hope that tomarrow is a little bit better.
I still love my truck. #Ford rocks!!!!
Sorry for the spelling. Im in a hurry.
